Area Overview

Ciutat Vella is the old part of the city, which makes it the center of tourism and life in Barcelona. Its houses are the most important historical monuments and institutions of the city. It combines narrow streets where you can find numerous bars, restaurants, and small shops; along with large pedestrian streets that are the commercial axis of the city. Its central location means that it is well connected to the rest of the city by metro, FGC, bus, and suburban areas.
